The stone crusher is an essential crushing equipment in the aggregate crushing production line, including primary crushing machine, secondary and tertiary crushing machine, as well as sand making machine. The enhancement of crusher productivity is a primary concern for every user in the production process. Therefore, it is essential to understand the factors that influence crusher productivity in order to effectively enhance equipment performance.
Crusher productivity is associated with many factors, but the main factors are: the physical and mechanical properties of ore, process parameters of crusher and operating conditions, as follows:
1. The hardness of ore
The ore hardness is represented by the compressive strength or hardness coefficient (compressive strength divided by 100 called hardness coefficient). The ore is harder and its compressive strength is larger, then more difficult to be crushed, and the productivity is lower. On the other hand, the productivity is high.
2. The humidity of ore
The material humidity itself has not a big effect to crushing, however, when more silt content or powder content of materials, the fine grained materials will clot or stick on the coarse grain materials because of the humidity increasing, then increasing the viscosity and reducing the mining speed to make the productivity decreasing. Even cause the outlet blocked and effect the normal production.
3. The proportion of ore
The proportion of ore minerals is proportional to the crusher’s productivity. For the same crusher, dealing with different proportion of ore, the productivity will be different, when crushing the bigger proportion of ore, its productivity is high, and on the other hand, the productivity is lower.
4. The cleavage of ore
The cleavage development degree of ore also directly affects the productivity of crusher. Because the ore is easy to be ruptured along with the cleavage surface when crushing, the crusher productivity of crushing developed cleavage of ore is much higher than that of crushing compact structure of ore.
5. Particle-size composition of materials
If the content of coarse particles are high and crushing ratio is big, productivity would be decreased. Whereas, if the content of coarse particles is low and crushing ratio is small, the productivity is high.
6. Engaging angle of crusher
Engaging angle of the crusher plays an important role in ore processing, the smaller the engaging angle is, the bigger outlet size is, the smaller the crushing ratio, the easier the ore get through, the higher the productivity is. Whereas, the bigger the engaging angle is, the smaller outlet size is, the larger the crushing ratio, the more difficult the ore get through, the lower the productivity is.
7. The rated revolution of crusher
The revolutions of jaw crusher and cone crusher’s eccentric shaft have great influence on the productivity, the revolution of all kinds of crusher should be within a certain range, otherwise high or low revolution will reduce the productivity.
8. The size of discharge opening
The size of discharge opening has a direct relation to engaging angle and crushing ratio. In the allowed range, appropriately increase outlet size, engaging angle gets small, crushing ratio decreases, the productivity increase. Whereas, decrease outlet size, engaging angle becomes big, crushing ratio increases, the productivity decrease. Productivity changes with the size of outlet of all kinds of crusher. The productivity of the same crusher increases along with increasing outlet size.
