Roller crusher, as one of the most ancient crushing equipment, is applied in the department of silicate and cement production for the simple structure. It is used for medium and fine crushing. Because of the large area occupying, low production capacity, roller crusher is seldom used in metal mine, which is replaced by cone crusher. But it is used in the small size mine or dressing plant to process precious mineral with little argillic alteration.

Double roller crusher is made up of two cylindrical rollers as the main operating mechanism (Fig. 1). The two rollers rotate in the opposite direction that form a crushing cavity, in which the materials are involved by the function of friction between materials(ore) and roller to be crushed. The crushed materials care discharged from the gap between two rollers under the effect of gravity. The gap size determines the max. granularity of crushed products. Normally, roller crusher is used for medium and fine crushing.

Single roller crusher consists of a rotating roller and a jaw plate, which is used for coarse crushing medium hardness ore. The materials are crushed between roller and jaw plate, and discharge from outlet.

Roll surface of roller crusher is divided into two types including smooth surface and non-smooth (toothed and groove) surface. The smooth roller can crush and grind the material, which is suitable for the medium and fine crushing of the medium hard material. Toothed roller crusher has the function of splitting and grinding that is very suitable for coarse and medium crushing soft and brittleness ore.
