How to measure crushing degree of solid waste
There are many kinds of solid waste,we usually use different mechanical strength or hardness to measure crushing degree of solid waste.
1. Mechanical strength Mechanical strength means different crushing resistance of solid waste. Usually we use compressive strength, tensile strength, shear strength and tensile strength to measure its crushing resistance.Take the compressive strength of solid waste as a standard measurement: compressive strength of hard solid waste is more than 20 mpa;compressive strength of medium-hard solid waste is 40-250 mpa;soft waste is less than 20 mpa.The greater the mechanical strength of solid waste is,more difficult it is for crushing.Mechanical strength of solid waste is related to its particles size ,usually if solid waste has smaller waste particle size, its mechanical strength probably is high, thus its crushing resistance is high.
2. The hardness The hardness of solid waste is the ability to resist external mechanical invasion. The greater the hardness of solid waste is,more difficult it is for its crushing. There are two methods to show the hardness of solid waste. One kind is mineral hardness. The other shows by its physical characteristics after crushed.According to the physical characteristics after crushed, solid waste can be divided into the hardest material, hard material, hard material and soft material.
In solid waste, the characteristic mostly are brittleness, its plasticity before crushing is poor. But there are some waste with higher toughness and plasticity in room temperature, thus traditional crushing method is hard to crush it.In this case, it requires special crushing method.
