What is gravel, natural sand, artificial sand, dust content, and so on? In order to buy the suitable mining stone crusher machine, we need to know about the stone and sand terms.
Gravel
Refer to the rock through natural conditions and the formation of particles with a particle size greater than 5mm.
Natural sand
Naturally formed, manually mined and sieved rock particles with particle size less than 4.75mm, including river sand, lake sand, mountain sand and desalted sea sand, but excluding soft and weathered rock particles.
Artificial sand
Artificial sand is a rock particle with a particle size less than 4.75mm, which is produced by mechanical crushing and screening. It does not include soft rock, particles of weathered rock, mixed sand is sand made by mixing machined sand and natural sand.
Dust content
The aggregate contains particles with nominal size less than 80μm, including clay, silt, and fine debris.
Building sand
Building sand is generally divided into fine sand, medium sand, medium coarse sand and coarse sand. According to the fineness modulus (an index that represents the coarseness and fineness of natural sand particle size), sand can be divided into three kinds: coarse, medium and fine.
Coarse sand: fineness modulus is 3.7~3.1, the average particle size is more than 0.5mm.
Medium sand: fineness modulus is 3.0~2.3, the average particle size is 0.5~0.35mm.
Fine sand: fineness modulus is 2.2~1.6, the average particle size is 0.35~0.25mm.
Super fine sand: fineness modulus is 1.5~0.7, average particle size is below 0. 25mm.
