Main Components Introduction of Belt Conveyor

I. Belt 

Belt is one of the main components of the conveyor. It went through the whole length of the conveyor, the consumption volume of the belt is quite high. Meanwhile, the price of belt is very expensive. During the transmission procedure, the belt functioned not only as the carrier of the subject but also as the hooking component to convey goods and to transmit the tractive force. The belt can be sorted into common belt, steel cord belt, rough top rubber belt, heat resistant belt and cold resistant belt as well as acid resistant belt, alkali-resistant and oil resistant belt.

II. Carrier roller    

Carrier roller is used to support the weight of the belt and the components that moving with the belt. Its function is to provide support and to reduce the resistance of motion ensuring that the vertical speed of the belt will not exceed the speed limitation making sure the belt runs stable.

III. Driving Device   

Driving device is the main power source of the belt conveyor. The belt rotates by the help of the fraction force, which generates by the rolling of coupling and reducer between the roller and belt. 

IV. Tension Device 

The function of the tension device is to make sure the belt has enough tension force to generate the fraction that needed between the roller and the belt and limit the vertical angle between each carrier rollers to make sure the belt conveyor runs stably. Normally, the tension device contains vertical tension device and spiral tension device. 

V. Breaking device     

The belt conveyor with loading tilt transportation, when the slope angle exceeds a certain value, the conveyor reverse rotation will be happened if the motor power off, which makes the material accumulation, and even cause conveyor belt ruptured or mechanical damaged. To prevent accident occurred when overload stopped, should setup the braking device.

VI. Sweeping device   

In the process of running for belt conveyor, the fine coal particles tend to stick on the tapes. Small particles of coal sticking on the tape working surface through the tape to the roller and the redirection roller and then form a solid layer of coal seam on the roller, which makes the shape of roller changed. As a result, it will cause the tape deviated and effect the tension distribution leading to the tapes deviation and damaged. At the same time, the tape along with the roller sliding performance becomes bad, the motion resistance increasing and the energy consumption of the drive also increases accordingly, so it is very necessary for the belt conveyors to installing sweeping device.
