(1) Ore density and particle size. Under the same condition of concentration and all other things, the lower density ore material is, the greater the viscosity of ore pulp is, the larger particle size is. Conversely, higher density of ore material is, the smaller the viscosity is, more overflow particle size of fine sand return. So, when processing high density ore, should increase sand concentration appropriately; For lower density minerals, should reduce the sand concentration appropriately.
(2) Sand silt content and particle size. The viscosity of the slurry increases with a higher sand silt content or finer particle size, resulting in a slower settling velocity of particles in the pulp and rougher granularity of the overflow product. To achieve the desired overflow fineness, it is necessary to appropriately increase the amount of filling water and reduce the pulp density. Conversely, if there is less silt content, after desliming processing, it is advisable to appropriately increase the pulp density and reduce the return of fine-grained sand material.
(3) Height of overflow weir. The sedimentation area can be adjusted by changing the height of the overflow weir. Increasing the height of the overflow weir will expand the sedimentation area for ore grains and enhance the capacity of sand making, resulting in a decrease in particle size during overflow. Conversely, when a coarser particle size is desired, lowering the height of the overflow weir is recommended.
(4) The sand making machine trough angle. With a smaller trough and dip angle, the subsidence area of the sand making machine becomes larger, resulting in finer overflow particle size and higher content of fine particles in the sand return. On the other hand, increasing the trough angle reduces the subsidence area, providing more opportunities for coarse-grained materials to decline. This leads to coarser overflow granularity but less fine sand return.
(5) The uniformity of ore and feed. When the pulp density increases, so does the rising velocity and horizontal velocity of the pulp, resulting in coarser overflow granularity. On the other hand, when reducing ore, both the particle size and fine grain content increase in sand return.
(6) Pulp density. Pulp density is the most important factors of the sand making machine in the operation. Generally speaking, the pulp density is low, the overflow particle size, concentration increases, the overflow particle coarsening. In the actual production, for the specified ore sand making machine, sand pulp density has its appropriate system. Under the suitable concentration, when keeping system grain size, can obtain the biggest production and maintain productivity, the smallest separation size can be obtained.
